Gaslamp was so pumpin' the Sunday before NYE, they're may have been more tourists than transients and rose peddlers! Henry's was oddly quiet for being so inviting. Loved that this pub was dark, with most of the light coming from the TVs. Good menu selections. The wagyu smashburger was not cheap, but it was fresh, juicy, and delicious. The Parmesan fries were incredible, generously covered with so much potent toasted garlic you'll need to carry around Snuggle fabric softener sheets too blow your garlic burps into. Refillable Diet Pepsi was crisp. Vodka cranberry wasn't the strongest, but it was better than the other two bars I visited that night, plus it was only $5 (happy hour) despite being dark out. Server was friendly, though he disappeared for a moment. Maybe it was the burps.

I will make this short. I came here during Comic Con week. This place is usually on point. Today was somewhat of a miss. I am going to assume due to staffing. The hostess and servers are very polite. They accommodate you when asked. This is from seating location to food. It is a noise place, so no romantic thoughts. The wagyu burger is great. Savory taste in the seasoned meat. The Carmel onions add to the sweetness. I added the pickles to cut salt and sweet. The flat bread meat lovers, was decent. Cooked well, with a nice taste to the sauce. It needed more meat, in order to call it a meat lovers. I always recommend to order your chicken wings without sauce. This is why, our wings were burnt. Now we did get a replacement right away. The replacement wings were very tasty. I will come again, and give an update very soon. -Day 2 return update. Still a comic con weekend. Pepperoni pizza was pretty good. My son loved it. My wings were cooked very well. I added blue cheese. I highly recommend it. It was not as busy today. Service was great. Oh, so that you know. When you check in with Yelp, you will get a 10% coupon. That is not a factor anymore. So don't ask for the discount. Unfortunately, it has not been removed. Don't be a Karen / Ken about it. lol.

This place was amazing. We came here for my wife's birthday on 6/19/2024. From the moment we got there and was carded by the security. I was impressed to be greeted by a female security. I think there should be more places that do that. As a former bouncer, it would have saved a lot of headaches, Kudos to this place. Anyways, Henrys had a good vibe with live music. The bartender, Jordan attended to not only us but the whole place by herself and had our drinks in front of us in no time and the drinks were amazing. Thank you Jordan for making our experience here a good one. We will definitely revisit this place before we leave town or next time we are in San Diego.

Five of us on an early Saturday afternoon were looking for drinks and lunch downtown. We found no line at Henry's and decided it was our spot. The young woman at the host stand told us to sit anywhere we liked. We chose a tall four-top and grabbed a fifth stool to accommodate us. We were soon greeted by a really sweet and super cute Lacy. She took our drinks orders. A few minutes later Lacy was back at the table, drinks in hand and we placed our orders. Short Rib Bourguignon, Southwest Rice Bowl, Wagyu Smashburger, two orders of Fish Tacos (one with rice and pinto beans) and a basket of fries. *Short Rib Bourguignon: This was my choice and it was one of the best meals I've had in recent memory. Short ribs with creamy cheddar mashed potatoes and baby carrots. The short rib was melt-in-your-mouth tender. It was full of flavor. So tender and juicy. The mashed potatoes were creamy deliciousness and the carrots! Those carrots! I'm not certain how they were prepared, but I could've eaten just a bowl of those. It was a very large bowl with equal parts short rib meat and potatoes with carrots on top. My table mates all agreed, I won with my food choice! *Southwest Rice Bowl: A large bowl filled with basmati rice, black beans, pico, sauteed veggies, and avocado. Becky chose chicken as her protein ($6 up charge, shrimp or steak were the other choices). Becky loved it. Fluffy and flavorful, perfectly cooked chicken. She loved the beans with the pico and avo. Another large portion. *Wagyu smashburger: Our friend liked the burger, it was cooked to the right temp for her. She liked the caramelized onions and the Chicago pickles. She was not a fan of the sambal aioli. It was too spicy for her. She is, however, a self-proclaimed "Spice Wimp". Zero is her spice level. *Fish Tacos: Two large filets in flour tortillas per serving. According to the two who ordered them said they were "Okay and "Pretty good". Both agreed that the fish was under seasoned and a bit bland. We all thought that leafy lettuce rather than cabbage was an odd topping. The rice and black beans were a hit. *Fries: We all agreed. Excellent. Two relatively minor issues. One meal worth writing home about. One excellent meal. Superb service from Lacy. That equals five stars to me! (Henry's Pub does charge that annoying "surcharge". Theirs is 3%. Stop with the surcharge!)

E X P E R I E N C E We came as a group of 2 on a Sunday night. Around 9 PM there was a hurricane warning, so there were not that many people at gas lamp area. But it was still so much fun because of the employees energy. loved that there were a ton of tvs on the perimeter of the establishment. lyrics were available for you to sing alonf S E R V I C E We were immediately greeted by security Upon entering. We found our own spot to sit and proceed to enjoy the music. There were probably 20 people in the bar. This seemed about on par with the other open bars that we had walk past K A R A O K E. Smoked wings and happy hour took the cake here although they showcase a menu worth stopping by for more next time. Weekends they move the tables and have a DJ. Stop by for a quick drink and stay eatin!
